John Smith is our principal trombonist and has played with KSO for nineteen years. John holds a B.M. and M.M. from University of Iowa and teaches 5th grade band in DeKalb. He has a varied music background including choir, orchestra, band, big band, brass, theater, and church performances. John is also President of J.D. Sound Impressions, a professional musical entertainment company featuring nine different ensembles.
