The mission of the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra is to serve as an Orchestra for the Community and beyond by:

1. Offering enriching performances of orchestral music for residents of the region.
   
   
2. Serving as a vehicle for the orchestral music education of children and youth in the region, especially those who have limited access to such experiences.
   
   
3. Providing a means for professional and amateur musicians in the region to play interesting and challenging music in a full orchestral setting.
   
   
4. Provide opportunities for in-state as well as out-of-state soloists and guest conductors to perform before appreciative local audiences.

Attainment of these mission goals will make an important contribution to the quality of the cultural life of the DeKalb County region.
