 
The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit community orchestra which provides a place for area musicians to use their talents in an orchestral setting. The Kishwaukee Symphony consists of professional, student, and dedicated amateur musicians all within the community ranging from age sixteen to eighty. The orchestra, founded in 1976, began by getting together to play informally, to rehearsing once a week and presenting four concerts a season at the Egyptian Theatre. It also provides a family listening experience of interest and excellence. Its programs are enhanced by including guest conductors and soloists from the area who have national reputations. The orchestra's plans and policies are established by an orchestral committee, the conductor, the manager, and a board of directors composed of citizens from the community. |
