An "Evening with The Three Celli," presented by the Kishwaukee Symphony Associates (KSA) to benefit the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra (KSO), was a great success. The The Celli are Linc Smelser, a cellist with the Grant Park Symphony; Steve Balderston, formerly a cellist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and currently a full-time professor of cello at DePaul University; and Brant Taylor, a cellist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Held in the extraordinary DeKalb home of Ron and Nancy Proesel, the three cellists delighted an audience of nearly one hundred guests. They performed a wide selection of dynamic pieces ranging from Baroque to modern, including a few composed by The Beatles.

“The KSA is grateful to the Proesels for hosting this exclusive event in their beautiful home. We are also very appreciative to the local and out-out-town audience members who attended in support of our community orchestra. Thank you to Linc Smelser, Steve Balderston, and Brant Taylor for sharing their musical gifts to create a magical evening for all,” said Gretchen Moore, KSA chairperson. This event raised $4,800 for the KSO.
